Running a sim from a shared link
A workshop link or embed lets you practise without an account. Enter your name, an email if asked, and an access code if you were given one, then Start.
If someone sent you a link to a sim, you do not need an Evolve Sim account. The trainer or organisation that shared the link pays for your run.
Start the sim
- Open the link. You see the sim's name and the line "Enter your details to begin this practice conversation. No account needed."
- Enter Your name.
- Enter your Email if the link asks for it. Some links do not.
- If you were given an Access code, enter it. It looks like XXXX-XXXX.
- Read the notice. You are practising with an AI character, not a real person. The conversation is recorded and scored automatically, a human can review any score, and your results go to the organisation or trainer who sent you the link.
- Choose Start.
On the next screen, headed Before we begin, enter your name again, choose Enable microphone if you want to speak, and choose Start simulation. Voice is optional. You can type at any time. See Microphone setup.
When you finish
Choose End sim when you are done, or keep going until the conversation closes. Your run is scored and your feedback appears on screen. Read it then, because there is no account to come back to. Try again runs it once more if the link allows another attempt.
The person who shared the link sees your name, the email you entered, your score and your feedback, so they can follow up with you. You do not receive a certificate for a run without an account.
Messages you might see
- "This link has expired." The trainer set an end date and it has passed.
- "This link is no longer active." The trainer switched it off.
- "This link has reached its usage limit." The link or your access code has been used the maximum number of times.
- "You have already completed this simulation." An embedded sim allows a set number of attempts per email address and yours are used.
- "That access code was not recognised." Check the code for typos.
- "This link is not available right now." The person who shared it cannot fund another session at the moment. Tell them.
In each case the fix is with whoever sent you the link.
A run that ends in under a minute, for example because a microphone failed, does not count as one of your attempts and does not cost the link owner anything.
Accessibility
The start screen has an Accessibility section with Text-only simulations, Reduce motion and Always show the transcript. Choices are saved on your device.
