How scoring works

An AI assessor scores each run against the sim's criteria out of 100. The pass mark is 70. You get feedback and evidence, and a certificate if you pass.

When a run ends, an AI assessor reads the transcript and scores it against the assessment criteria the sim's author wrote. You see "Scoring your conversation" for a few seconds, then your result.

The score

Each criterion gets a score from 0 to 100. The Overall score is the weighted average of those criteria, using the weights the author set. If the author set none, every criterion counts equally. A criterion in a stage the conversation never reached is marked Not reached and left out of the average rather than counted as zero.

The pass mark is 70. A run scores Passed at 70 or above. It is Failed below 70, and also when any criterion sat in a stage you never reached, because the assessor could not see that skill. Scores are grouped into bands too. Excellent is 85 and above, Strong is 75 and above, Solid is 60 and above, and anything lower is Developing.

Within the Capability breakdown, each criterion shows Mastered or Below the threshold. Authors can set a different mastery threshold per criterion, so a criterion can read "Below 80" on a sim with a stricter bar. The overall pass mark stays at 70.

The feedback

Your result page has Overall feedback, Strengths, Areas to improve and Practise next, which names the criterion with the most room to grow. Under each criterion you get Evidence, which quotes what you actually said, and Missed opportunities. Where a sim has documents attached, the assessor also notes whether you used that knowledge correctly, ignored it, or misapplied it.

How this score was calculated shows which model, prompt and rubric version produced the result and whether a person has reviewed it. See Challenging a score.

When a run is not scored

Some runs come back as Completed, not assessed. This happens when you said fewer than two things, when the assessor was unavailable, or when your organisation has turned AI assessment off. An unassessed run has no score and no pass or fail, and does not count towards your personal best. Run it again for an assessed result.

Certificates

A pass earns a certificate, listed under Certificates with a link anyone can use to verify it. A certificate is valid for 12 months. Passing the same sim again renews it and keeps the same verification code. Runs from a shared link without an account do not earn certificates.

Every run also sends you an email with a View your scorecard button, so you can come back to the result later from Personal Results.
